How to apply for social security in Kerala

Social security is the need of the hour with the inflation and recession going on around us. Here is how you can apply for a pension in the state of Kerala. Via this scheme, the government provides each eligible member a help of 1600 Rs.

Eligibility

1. You have to be 60+ years of age.
2. You should not have vehicles that are more than 1000cc of power.
3. You should not be getting a pension under any other welfare schemes from the government. Pensions can’t be clubbed together.
4. You should be residing in Kerala for at least 10 years and have your name on the Ration card.

Documents needed

1. Income certificate — the collective income of the family should be less than 1 lakh annually. Note, this should be the combined income of the husband and wife only. Married sons' or daughters’ incomes are not taken into account.
2. Aadhaar card — Needed for OTP verification
3. Ration card — Make sure you have an APL or BPL card. Also, make sure the spelling of the requester matches properly with the Aadhaar card.
